André Alexis, Louise Penny, and Raziel Reid are the three lone Canadians on Amazon.ca’s lists of 2015 bestselling titles.

Amazon.ca’s overall top-selling books list was led by Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train, and included Quebec author Penny for Book 11 in her Chief Inspecter Gamache mystery series, The Nature of the Beast (Minotaur Books/St. Martin’s Press), and Alexis for his Scotiabank Giller Prize– and Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize–winning novel, Fifteen Dogs (Coach House Books).

Amazon.ca released its first-ever list of bestselling books for kids and teens. Jeff Kinney’s latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid installment topped that list, which also featured When Everything Feels like the Movies (Arsenal Pulp Press), the controversial Governor General’s Literary Award-winning novel by Reid, a columnist and the newly appointed University of British Columbia adjunct writing professor.

Amazon.ca editors also chose their overall favourite books of the year (not based on sales), featuring Canadians Patrick DeWitt for Undermajordomo Minor, Kate Beaton for Step Aside, Pops: A Hark! A Vagrant Collection, Mark Schatzker for The Dorito Effect, Jillian Tamaki for SuperMutant Ninja Academy, Adam Schroeder for All-Day Breakfast, and Jess Taylor for Pauls. A best Canadian books of the year list was also announced, crowned by Alexis’s Fifteen Dogs.
