Andrew Pyper’s The Damned slated for film adaptation

The-Damned-by-Andrew-Pyper-edited-e1414115566936Legendary Pictures has optioned film rights for Toronto author Andrew Pyper’s The Damned (Simon & Schuster Canada) before the novel’s release in February. The company’s films include Godzilla 300, Pacific Rim, and Inception.

The Damned is a supernatural thriller following Danny Orchard as he is haunted by his twin sister who was killed in an fire    one that Danny survived and wrote a successful memoir about. The tone is described as “in the vein of The Sixth Sense and Jacob’s Ladder.”

Pyper’s 2013 ITW Award  winning novel The Demonologist is currently in development with Imagemovers director/producer Robert Zemeckis and Universal Pictures.

Pyper said on his website that he “couldn’t be happier about where my nasty little offspring found a home.”
