Toronto’s Glad Day Bookshop has launched a charity project to support Sprott House, Canada’s first LGBTQ2S youth shelter, which was founded last summer and opens in February.

The bookseller is donating more than $800 of books toward a library at the shelter, but is looking to the public for further contributions.

Glad Day is accepting book donations in-person – at 598 Yonge Street – offering $1 in store credit for every two books donated, up to $10. Readers can also pick titles from the store’s selection to donate, and will receive 30 per cent off books they choose to give this way.
