Daily book biz round-up: Arthur Slade wins $25,000; U.K. to review copyright laws; and more

Today’s book news:

  • Barry

RE: the linked CBC article about Arthur Slade winning the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award. CBC should have mentioned all the awards.

That particular award was one of four awards handed out at the CCBC event — the best book award gala in Toronto last night.

To give all the authors their due:

TD Children’s Literature Award: Arthur Slade, The Hunchback Chronicles (HarperCollins)

Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award: Colleen Sydor and Nicolas Debron (illustrator), Timmerman Was Here (Tundra)

Norma Fleck Award for Canadian Children’s Non-Fiction: Priscilla Galloway with Dawn Hunter, Adventures on the Ancient Silk Road (Annick)

Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People: Shane Peacock, The Vanishing Girl (Tundra)

Also, Marie-Louise Gay’s Caramba was honoured as the TD Grade One Giveaway.
