Andrew Kaufman and the sophomore curse

Last night, Andrew Kaufman launched his new book, The Waterproof Bible (Random House Canada), at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel, and discussed the so-called “sophomore curse” with Q&Q‘s own Nathan Whitlock.

The event was hosted by Marc Glassman, executive director of This Is Not a Reading Series, who chatted with Kaufman’s editor, Anne Collins, before the launch. “If we lose to Germany, I will give you all copies of Andrew’s book,” Glassman told the audience, referring to Team Canada’s hockey game in Vancouver the same night. (Luckily, a victory for the team kept Glassman from having to make good on his promise.)

Coach House publicist Evan Munday gets warm and fuzzy with The Rights Factory’s Kelvin Kong after the event.
