Every year before the Scotiabank Giller Prize is handed out, the staff of Q&Q brings its collective wisdom to bear to pick the likely winner – and for the most part, we get it wrong. This year’s in-house favourites were Anne Michaels (three votes) and Annabel Lyon (three votes). Only two of us – review editor Steven W. Beattie and publisher Alison Jones – picked the actual winner, Linden MacIntyre.

For Q&Q‘s complete coverage of the Giller gala, see here.
