No big bucks for Blagojevich book
The idea that ousted Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich could command an Obama-calibre advance for his planned memoir seemed like a perverse state of affairs, but justice has returned to the land. A bill introduced this week by the Illinois senate effectively prohibits the disgraced governor from profiting from his gubernatorial shenanigans. From GalleyCat:
The Elected Officials Misconduct Forfeiture Act would prevent the former governor from collecting his advance, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. If the governor is convicted, he must “forfeit any monetary rights derived from any book, movie, television, radio program, or Internet depiction or detailing of the crime for which he or she was convicted.”
