Japanese man takes love of comic books too far

A man named Taichi Takashita has started a campaign to force the Japanese government to legally recognize wedded unions between humans and comic book characters. More than 1,000 people have signed their names to this petition over the past week, and though the whole thing may have started as a joke, it’s clear that not everybody is treating it as such. According to The Telegraph:

… one supporter wrote: “For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love. Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost.”

The article doesn’t say what comic book character Takashita is sweet on, but those girls from Sailor Moon should be real scared right about now…
