CBC has announced the judging panel for this year’s Creative Non-fiction Prize: Writers’ Union of Canada chair and writer Brian Brett‚ Governor General’s Literary Award–winning author Diane Schoemperlen‚ and novelist Drew Hayden Taylor. The award is presented to the author of a short‚ unpublished work in the genre.

The prize longlist will be released Aug. 31‚ and the shortlist‚ Sept. 14. Each finalist will receive $1,000. The winner of a $6,000 purse‚ publication in Air Canada’s enRoute magazine‚ and a spot at the 10-day Banff Writing Residency will be revealed Sept. 21.
