After 12 Canadian authors and publishers were shortlisted for this year’s Lambda Literary Awards – the New York City–based prizes honouring the best LGBTQ books of the year – three titles from north of the border have been selected as winners.

Vancouver writer Hasan Namir’s debut novel, God in Pink (Arsenal Pulp Press), won in the Gay Fiction category, while Serbian-Canadian poet Miodrag Kojadinovic’s Érotiques Suprèmes (Choose the Sword Press) took home the prize for best Gay Erotica. Beyond: The Queer Sci-Fi & Fantasy Comic Anthology (Beyond Press), edited by Halifax comics writer Sfé R. Monster and assistant editor Taneka Stotts, won in the LGBT Anthology – Fiction category.

The writers were celebrated at a ceremony at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts on June 6.
