Seventeen Canadian authors nominated for Lambda Literary Awards

The finalists for the 27th annual Lambda Literary Awards, which recognize excellence in LGBT literature published the year prior, have been announced.

Seventeen* Canadian authors were shortlisted in 12 of 27 categories. A record number of 818 titles were submitted for this year’s award. The winners will be announced at a ceremony June 1 at New York City’s Great Hall at Cooper Union.

The Canadian finalists, selected by a group of more than 100 volunteers spanning various literary professions, are as follows:
