Terry Fallis’s fourth book, No Relation (McClelland & Stewart), has won him a second Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. The announcement was made today at the Best Western Mariposa Inn in Orillia.
Fallis won the award in 2008 for The Best Laid Plans. He was also shortlisted for the prize in 2011 and 2013.
The runners-up, who all receive $1,500, are:
- Aaron Bushkowsky, Curtains for Roy (Cormorant Books)
- Alan Doyle, Where I Belong: Small Town to Great Big Sea (Random House Canada)
- Zarqa Nawaz, Laughing All The Way to the Mosque (HarperCollins Canada)
- Robert Wringham, A Loose Egg (Eggs Press)
Fallis will receive $15,000 and the medal, which will be presented at a gala in June.
