The Trade division of Scholastic Canada; one of the country’s leading publishers and distributors of children’s book and educational materials in both official languages is currently seeking a:

Trade Sales Coordinator, 9 Month Contract – Toronto, Ontario

The Trade Sales Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the National Account Manager – Mass Market in all aspects of mass market customer sales relations and internal / external communications. Key accounts include: CMMI, Wal-Mart, Target, The News Group, Loblaws, Shoppers Drugmart, Save-on-Foods / Overwaitea Foods, London Drugs, B.C. Ferries, Toys R Us and others as necessary. Sales duties will include preparing for and attending all pertinent client meetings, presenting new titles, preparing power points, organizing sales materials, creating key title excel spreadsheets, and assisting in client follow-up to secure orders.

Other duties will include assisting in title forecasting, on-going order tracking, verification and communication of any special mass market customer order needs to all channels (Customer Service, Warehouse, IT, Supply Chain), custom display and pre-pack set-up, reserve grid maintenance, on-going order monitoring and verification, due date extension requests and participation in display meetings.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a minimum 2-3 years’ experience in book publishing and/or sales. The successful applicant will possess a University/ College degree, excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills along with a professional attitude. The ability to juggle projects and work both independently and as a team in a busy environment is required. Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) are mandatory. Experience with BookNet Canada resources (SalesData and CataList) and Retail Link is an asset. Some travel will be required along with occasional weekends and evenings. This position is located in our Toronto office.
