The Trade division of Scholastic Canada; one of the country’s leading publishers and distributors of children’s book and educational materials in both official languages is currently seeking a:
Trade Analyst and Bibliographic Data Manager, 6 Month Contract – Toronto, Ontario
The Trade Analyst and Bibliographic Data Manager will be responsible for all collation, analysis and dissemination of Trade Book Net Canada POS Sales Data including: Market Share Reports, Top 50 POS sales lists, analysis of market competition, Indigo peer-to-peer promotional placement analysis and ad hoc BNC reports as needed and requested. In conjunction with key internal departments (IT, Supply Chain, Product Manager, Sales and Marketing teams) coordinate all aspects of bibliographic data set-up in the Trade Department and oversee all aspects of on-going maintenance to allow for smooth data flow to all Trade English and French customers.
This position will Coordinate and distribute all custom Sales and Tracking Reports as needed for Account presentations, business reviews, co-op placement reviews, territory and Plano gram analysis and returns analysis. Assist with and participate in trade department special events including: Vendor Shows and other events as required. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Bibliographic Data and POS Sales analysis as well as an intimate understanding of ONIX and HTML. The successful applicant will possess a University/ College degree, excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills along with a professional attitude. The ability to juggle projects and work both independently and as a team in a busy environment is required. Advanced computer knowledge of AS 400, Advanced Excel, Access, Word and computer processing is required and an understanding of HiPoint would be an asset.
