Breakwater Books Ltd., a trade and educational publisher, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic individual to become our new full-time Sales and Marketing Coordinator. This is a hybrid position working within marketing, publicity and sales. The ideal candidate should be a quick learner who wants a career in the book publishing industry and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
The Sales and Marketing Coordinator oversees traditional and online promotional activities including liaising with authors, media, bloggers, festival organizers, booksellers, advertising agents, and sales reps; managing our social networking and other online activities; organizing events, including launches, tours, and signings; and composing and creating newsletters, press releases, and other promotional materials. The Sales and Marketing Coordinator should be passionate about books and reading, detail oriented, comfortable with public speaking, able to work both independently and in a small team-environment, and have new and innovative sales and marketing ideas to bring to the table.
The ideal candidate must have excellent organization, administrative, written and oral communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects. Strong attention to detail is required. Very strong general computer and MS Office skills are a must, and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Illustrator) is desirable. A post-secondary degree in publishing, marketing, literature, communications or related field is required. Related work experience in a field such as publishing, bookselling, communications, marketing or an arts-related industry will distinguish a potential candidate. This position is available immediately.
