2015 Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Awards shortlists announced

The Ontario Arts Council announced the shortlists for the 2015 Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Awards this morning. The two annual awards, in the categories of Children’s Picture Book and Young Adult/Middle Reader, each comes with a $6,000 purse and are presented in recognition of excellence in Canadian English-language writing and illustration in books for children.

The winning titles will be announced May 15, as selected by juries comprising Grade 3-4 (picture book) and Grade 7-8 (YA/MG) students from Toronto’s Alexander Muir/Gladstone Avenue Junior and Senior Public School.

The shortlists are:

Children’s picture book
