2015 TD Canadian Children’s Book Week roster announced

childrensbookweekThe Canadian Children’s Book Centre has announced the 29 authors, storytellers, and illustrators selected to participate in the 2015 edition of TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, which will run May 2-9.

The national event takes kidlit creators out of their home provinces and sends them to cities and towns across the country to promote a love of reading and increase awareness of homegrown children’s literature, especially in smaller communities where access to quality books is more limited.

Launched in 1977, an estimated 28,000 children now participate in the annual event, which includes readings, workshops, and activities hosted by local schools, libraries, and community centres. A full calendar, including where each delegate will be appearing, is set to be available in October.
