Event photos: Lane Anderson Award

The second annual Lane Anderson Award was handed out in Toronto Wednesday night. The prize honours two jury-selected Canadian books “ one for adults and one for young readers “ published in the field of science. Each winner receives $10,000.

The prize is supported by the Fitzhenry Family Foundation.

This year’s winner in the adult category is The Ptarmigan’s Dilemma: An Exploration into How Life Organizes and Supports Itself (McClelland & Stewart) by biologists John and Mary Theberge. The children’s winner is the similarly themed Evolution (Kids Can Press) by Skeptic magazine contributor Daniel Loxton.
