Toronto’s Word on the Street festival has announced that children’s book author Evan Munday will serve as interim festival director, while current director Heather Kanabe is on maternity leave. The contract is effective starting in January.

Munday is known for his Silver Birch Award–nominated The Dead Kid Detective Agency series. He brings more than a decade of experience in the industry as a publicist, bookseller, ebook designer, illustrator, and instructor at Humber College’s creative book publishing program.
