Ellen Datlow, ChiZine raise over $25,000 for supernatural fiction anthology

With only a few days left on their Kickstarter campaign, award-winning horror editor Ellen Datlow and Toronto’s ChiZine Publications have already surpassed their fundraising target for Fearful Symmetries, an anthology of terror and supernatural fiction to be published in spring 2014.

On the project’s Kickstarter page, Datlow states, “I’ve decided to partner with the Canadian publisher ChiZine because I enjoy what they publish and I love their production values and commitment to good-looking books. They also have excellent distribution, which means their books are available in most bookstores.”

Over $25,000 has been raised for the project, which will go toward paying contributor and production costs. Here’s one tweeter who thinks a donation is a “good thing”:

Datlow has edited more than 50 anthologies over her career and is the recipient of nine World Fantasy Awards, the most in the organization’s history.
