Doubleday Canada to reveal identity of erotic novelist L. Marie Adeline

Tomorrow on CBC Radio’s The Current, Doubleday Canada will reveal the identity of L. Marie Adeline, the pseudonymous author behind the new erotic novel S.E.C.R.E.T.

The first title in a series, S.E.C.R.E.T. attracted international media attention as one of the breakout successes at last year’s Frankfurt Book Fair.

If Quillblog was a gambler, we’d put our money on Adeline being Lisa Gabriele, the author of two national bestsellers, The Almost Archer Sisters and Tempting Faith DiNapoli.

Examine the evidence:

  • According to her bio, Adeline is a television producer. Gabriele is currently senior producer for CBC TV’s Dragon’s Den
  • In the book’s acknowledgements, Adeline thanks Dragon’s Den staffers Tracie Tighe, Alex Lane, and Mike Armitage “for the time off and support”
  • Both Gabriele and Adeline have written for Nerve.com and Vice
  • Gabriele used to work as a writer for The Current

Track the big reveal and other surprises at secretnovels.com or with the Twitter hashtag #SecretNovels. In the meantime, check out this slideshow of three Canadian pseudonymous authors and their possible identities.
