Jon Klassen wins Caldecott medal

Canadian-born illustrator Jon Klassen has won the Randolph Caldecott Medal for his picture book This Is Not My Hat (Candlewick Press/Random House).

Presented by the American Library Association, the Caldecott is the top honour for children’s book illustration in the U.S. Klassen also scored a Caldecott Honor acknowledgement for his illustrations in Mac Barnett’s picture book Extra Yarn.
