    The closure of any bookstore, even what were considered the BigBad Guys, makes me very sad.

    During my New York City days, my greatest pleasure was browsing, everywhere from the small independents in the Village, (The St. Marks Bookshop, The Women’s Bookstore and Three Lives, among other gems) both east and West, in Soho (The Great Spring Street Bookstore) to the megastores as well, not to mention the used greats like The Strand.

    Another lovely aspect of book store browsing then, was that sellers were Big Readers and knew their books and their authors. One could have in-depth conversations. Ah, those were the days my friends, we thought they would never end….
