Literary adaptation alert: Brief Interviews with Hideous Men

Just a few months after the tragic death of David Foster Wallace, the first ever film adaptation of his work is about to be unveiled. Brief Interviews with Hideous Men is at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, which kicks off today. John Krasinski, best known as Jim on The Office, directs and stars in the film. No word on whether it will be retitled Brief Interviews with Hideous Men Who Are Constantly Looking at the Camera and Smirking.

Also at Sundance is another lit-sourced film: The Informers, adapted by director Gregor Jordan from Bret Easton Ellis’s story collection.
