The book kiosk comes to Australia

The Espresso Book Machine has come to Australia for the first time. As The Age reports, the print-on-demand machine is up and running at an Angus & Robertson store in Melbourne, to some (muted) oohs and aahs.

Yesterday the machine was generating interest among readers. “I would use it; it’s nice to be able to get a book on demand,” student Erik Berglund, 25, said.

Here in Canada, the University of Alberta Bookstore has had one of the machines for nearly a year now, with much success.
