Event photos: Downie sings, Pachter sells
Joseph Boyden launched his second novel, the Giller-longlisted Through Black Spruce (Penguin Canada), at the Toronto bar Kultura on Tuesday night, enlisting a friend of his, Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie, to sing a few tunes.
Meanwhile, across town, Charles Pachter launched his Canadian-themed kids’ picture book M Is For Moose (Cormorant Books) with a This Is Not a Reading Series event, packing the Gladstone Hotel and selling close to 300 books.
