    Well, not all sci-fi gods are dumb (says the author of Calculating God, a science-fiction novel …). But the io9 post is mostly about gods in SF film and TV; for a good survey of the topic of gods in printed SF, see The Gospel According to Science Fiction, a nonfiction book by Gabriel McKee.
