  1. Ruthie says:

Why call your book “orphan love?”

You cannot make yourself an orphan. Only your parents can make you one. So, go and tell them to do what my sweet former parents did: leave me a victim to stray dogs, to sleet and wind and dirt, to hunger and thirst, and to abusive strangers.

Then you’ll be an orphan, whether you still want it or not. You’ll be nobody, and you’ll begin trying to be something. That’s REAL orphanhood.

  2. W.Beck says:

Has Ruthie actually read this book? I have and I have no issue with the title and nor am I an orphan.

I thoroughly enjoyed this first novel from Ms. Bozak, albeit a gritty and tortureous story at times the range of emotions experienced were like none I had felt in a novel in a long time.

I really look forward to her future works, and think she is destined to become one of this country’s leading authors. I wish her all the luck in the world and again, think she is a real talent and a real necessity on the Canadian writing scene.
