Friday photo: Vincent Lam

Vincent Lam reading in Ottawa

This week’s photo is courtesy of Ottawa photographer John W. MacDonald. On Wednesday, Vincent Lam read from his Giller Prize-winning Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures and packed 200 people into a standing-room only space at the Library and Archives Canada. Many in attendance wanted to meet the physician-turned author, and hoped the book-signing line would be shorter than the one at their local walk-in clinic.

Every Friday, Quillblog highlights a recent photo from our new Quill & Quire Flickr Pool. Have you recently attended a book reading, library event, or author appearance? If you’ve got photos of the Canadian book scene, we’d love to see them. Sign up through Flickr and submit your images.

  • Von: Well, that just goes to show how frivolous Ayn Rand was–her musings or writings must be equally inane.
