Goldenberg’s book causes a ruckus
Eddie Goldenberg, formerly a top aide to Jean Chrétien and currently a higher-up in Bob Rae’s Liberal leadership campaign, has certainly shaken things up with How It Works: Inside Ottawa, a book about his time behind Liberal doors during the years of Chrétien-Martin tension.
The timing of the book’s release (i.e., in the middle of the current Liberal leadership campaign) is suspect, and has journalists and politicos nationwide commenting. Roy MacGregor’s column in today’s Globe has the headline, “Tell-all Liberal books add old-fashioned mudslinging to madness of campaign,” and Cerberus, “A Three-Headed Canadian Watchdog” blog, has devoted two healthy-sized entries to discussion of Goldenberg’s timing.
We leave you with former Liberal attack-dog Warren Kinsella’s blog entry on the topic:
“So I hear that Eddie Goldenberg has written a book.
[Crickets chirping, paint drying, etc.]
Yep. That’s what I heard, alright.”
