The butler did it… again

William Morrow announced this week that a book that it had been keeping under wraps is The Way We Were, the second book about Diana, Princess of Wales, by her former butler Paul Burrell. His first book, A Royal Duty, which was published in 2003, was also based on his experience as Diana’s employee and confidante and sold 273,000 copies in hardcover and paperback in the U.S., according to the story on The Book Standard’s website.

The company announced that The Way We Were, which will be released Sept. 12, “will include previously unseen photographs and, with more information about Diana’s relationships, ‘will end years of speculation and misinformation.’”

Hmm… Quillblog seems to recall Burrell insisting that the first book was not a “tell-all” because he wanted to respect Diana’s privacy, but a second makes that appear more like he was holding out for a sequel deal. We are not amused.
