Take a book, leave a book
The Guardian has a story today about thieves making off with a 16th century book on display in an Austrian castle. The theft occurred a few days ago, but wasn’t detected until today because the Danny Oceanesque thief or thieves left another book in its place.
No word on what book they left in the place of Astronomicum Caesareum, said to be worth around £20,000. Perhaps it was the security guard’s copy of Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz.
Either way, we at Quillblog smell a future guerrilla marketing campaign.
