Fox and HarperCollins consummate relationship today

According to a New York Times article published today, the big ‘n scary — and appropriately vaguely-named — media conglomerate News Corporation is mating two of the most prized members of its stable today — Fox Studios and HarperCollins Publishers.

Edward Hyatt reports that the pair are teaming up to “develop television shows based on the works of HarperCollins authors.” First into the meatgrinder are Lisa Scottoline’s lawyer thrillers and The Reading Group by Elizabeth Noble.

The deal has resulted in former Buena Vista Productions vice-president for development Karen Glass being installed, courtesy of Fox, in the New York HarperCollins offices, where she will pan the publisher’s catalogue for Nielsen gold.
