Ticknor love in America

Sheila Heti’s novel Ticknor was recently published in the U.S. by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and has been attracting the admiration of several literary blogs. One site, the Litblog Co-op, has been running Ticknor-related content all week, including praise and criticism from various members as well as an interview with Lorin Stein, the FSG editor who acquired the book. “The guy’s alive,” says Stein of Heti’s title character. “[H]e’s as alive and unpredictable as an auditory hallucination. When I finished the first page of the MS, I remember passing it to a friend and saying, Read this. I was pretty sure this was something we’d want to publish.”
