Meet the authors
A couple of CanLit authors get the high-visibility profile treatment today. The CBC Arts site has a Q&A with Vancouver’s Anosh Irani, whose second novel, The Song of Kahunsha, has just come out with Doubleday Canada. Irani talks about his memories of his native Bombay and the challenges and advantages of writing about the city from afar.
Meanwhile, over at the Toronto weekly eye, poet Ken Babstock is the cover star. Damian Rogers does a nice job of contrasting the doom-and-gloom rhetoric that attends so much discussion of poetry today with Babstock’s enthusiasm and sense of connection with his readers. (Babstock’s newest collection, Airstream Land Yacht, is just out with Anansi; watch out for a starred review in the May issue of Q&Q.)
