It’s that time of year again
Salon has weighed in on the year’s books with a top-10 list split evenly between fiction and non-fiction. The fiction side includes reader favourites Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go and Zadie Smith’s On Beauty, as well as two short-story collections. The non-fiction choices are surprising for the lack of political-oriented titles. Though there is one Iraq-related book, George Packer’s The Assassin’s Gate, the list leans toward memoirs and biographies.
