Andrea Levy wins rather important Orange

The Orange Prize, recognizing achievements in women’s fiction from across the English-speaking world, marked its 10th anniversary on Monday by giving out a Best of the Best award. Choosing from a shortlist consisting of the previous winners of the Orange Prize, the all-female jury chose London author Andrea Levy’s novel, Small Island, the recipient of the Orange Prize in 2004. The novel also won the 2004 Whitbread Novel of the Year Award.
