Down with the establishment

On Good Reports, Alex Good takes a swipe at several established writers and pans critics who don’t pan them. But he does have some kind words for critics who haven’t been afraid to take down the latest from Rushdie, Coetzee, and others. Good writes: “Are critics just getting punchier? I don’t think so. If anything there is still a bias in the media towards being overly generous toward writers with established reputations. But the general rule is that most writers, even the greats, only have a limited number of great books in them, a window of super-productive years.”
