A weighty read

An article in The New York Times discusses the 1,360-page girth of Alberta author Paul Anderson’s debut novel, Hunger’s Brides, which is being published in the U.S. this fall by Carroll and Graf, after debuting here last year with Random House Canada. The piece includes a helpful accompanying chart of similarly weighted articles: a chihuahua, a case of beer, three copies of The Da Vinci Code, and a quarter of a watermelon.
