With the steady proliferation of blogs across the globe, it was inevitable that bloggers would begin making inroads into the publishing world. An article in The Book Standard takes a look at the phenomenon, and asks whether the allure of a ready-made readership really translates into bestselling success. Writes Rachel Deahl: “Publishers, intoxicated by the allure of an apparently fervent fan base, are betting that web success will equal print victory — and yet they claim they’re drawn to bloggers because of their talent.”
