Anne of Green Gables first edition fetches $24,000 US at auction

Anne of Green Gables proves, once again, its limitless popularity at a Sotheby’s auction this week — a first edition sold this week for US $24,000. As The Canadian Press reports, the pale green little volume was one of several valuable first editions in the collection of George Cosmatos, director of films such as Tombstone and Rambo: First Blood, who died this April in Victoria.
