Be afraid: part two

With a new round of Liberal attack ads aimed at the surging Conservative Party’s social and economic policies, concerned voters wondering how the culture industry will fare under a Tory majority might want to check out a Globe and Mail editorial by Margaret Atwood. Reading a little like one of her dystopian novels, the editorial paints a bleak picture of slashed funding and economically devastated communities. The reason: “Those calling themselves the Conservatives are really the Body Snatchers. They’ve eaten the comfy old Tories and peeled off their John A. Macdonald and John Diefenbaker skins and put them on, and now they’re prowling the earth with destruction in their hearts.”
