Adam Sternbergh, Louise Penny, Will Ferguson make U.K. Crime Writers’ Association awards longlists

logoThree Canadian authors are included on longlists for the upcoming 2014 Dagger Awards, presented by the U.K. Crime Writers’ Association. The first batch of this year’s Daggers were bestowed at a gala dinner Monday, where the longlists were also announced.

Adam Sternbergh is in the running for the John Creasy (New Blood) Dagger for his debut novel, Shovel Ready, while veteran whodunnit scribe Louise Penny could nab a Gold Dagger for How the Light Gets In, the ninth title in her Inspector Gamache series. Rounding out the trio is Will Ferguson’s Scotiabank Giller Prize–winning novel 419, which is up for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger.

No word yet on when shortlists and winners will be announced.
